1980 Mugneret-Gibourg Nuits-Saint-Georges Chaignots
These magnums are glorious! They came from a deep French collection of wines made by the great Dr. Georges Mugneret, and for us, they were among the real prizes.
It's now somewhat forgotten how great the 1980 vintage was in the Côte de Nuits, but these beautifully preserved mags of Chaignots say it in spades. Not to be missed.
